You slam the door while calling me names. Dinner is burning, the dog is barking This is my daily routine living in this place we call home. Baby, we're expecting! ![]() For as long as I can remember, I’ve been fairly uncomfortable in social situations. As an anxious overthinker, people pleasing has always been a priority. Women intimidate me and I tend to have more guy friends than girlfriends. People came to ME for advice and loyalty. But internally, I’m a lone wolf. I joined A Motivating Love after a coworker, Lisa, introduced me to Daphne. I observed for a while, taking it all in and reading the room. ![]() Although COVID-19 has brought a multitude of hardships into individual and collective experiences there has been an opportunity for growth. Many social justice movements have made their impact through social media information, protests, petitions, donations, and more. This time has given all of us the opportunity to grow as activists and allies. Activism connects passionate people to impactful causes and movements in our local communities and around the world. Each year we have a new theme that we cultivate, embrace and add it into the next. We began with ensuring that we knew we were worth it and had self-confidence. That developed into our self-love and we began to heal from past hurts and situations. Last year we supported many as we are now embarking into a new era – GROWTH! Never in a million years did I expect to be experiencing a Shelter at home lifestyle. In such a short period of time our lives as mothers and working women (and fathers and men) have changed significantly.
What we once knew as "normal" will never be the same again. The new "normal" is yet to come. With this being said, now is the time, we need to pull together to support each other more than ever.
